Root Partition and swap

Was doing some reading and im still confused on how i can partition a 32Gb external sd card for more storage internal or correctly setting up a swap partition (RAM) for this phone, specifically kitkat. Dont know, i read through some guides, seems like every phone is different and some are not capable..Thanks for any help ! ! !

This is actually a really easy process.

1. Download Mini Tool Partition on PC its free.
2. Backup/Copy/Move anything from your external sd card to a folder on your laptop because the partition formats your sd card.
3. When you open up mini tool theres somewhere on the top that says delete. Do this.
4. First partition will be Fat 32
5. Will Ext 4 some phone people choose Ext 2 but I can vouch for EXT4 working on my ZTE Max and our phones are almost the same.
6. You want to make your 2nd partition 20-25% of your total SD card. Fat 32 should be around 27 GB but if I remember correctly its in megabytes. Its up to you how much on each end. The second part EXT4 will be your partition to use like internal memory.
After you do the whole process you'll need to download Link2SD this is the app that will use your partitioned SD card like internal memory. In Link2sd under settings you'll have an option that says storage info that is where your extra memory will be showing up. After this partition you norma; settings wont show this. Only in Link2SD. I had over 50 apps downloaded on my ZTE max and still has 1.1 GB of internal memory.

7. When you install link2sd, reboot the phone. Than open Link2sd and it will say something like link or create mount or something like that and click yes and than reboot again. Than open link2sd and move whatever you want by linking the app. This pretty much sums it up and I included everything just not into a huge amount of detail as I'm trying to flash a deoxed 4.4.2 kitkat on my phone as we speak.

Here is a tutorial below and a very good one

used cwm recovery formatted my 32gb sd card. Then used the partition option and selected the largest size, think a lil over 4000mb. I wasint sure what format to choose so I selected ext4. Could someone correct me if i was wrong? I then selected the largest swap, 256mb est. i use AMemBooster apk to enable swap. Link2sd no work though for ext 2 or 3 won't write script.. only ext4 runs.. If this has made sense lol, I would like to know if ive done correctly... my memory i think is though.

I have been trying to get this to work because I keep running out of space on my phone for apps. I have 32GB sd card as well, but can't get link2sd to see the 2nd partition. I have tried all 3 ext 2, 3, and 4 with no luck.

use apk aparted (you have to buy) and then go to config and select your 2nd partition you made and delete, then select create, and you can select fat32. link2sd working good now.

my swap partition working too, though, can't tell much difference.

Gentlemen you need to step back look at the tools at hand and use them, google sh*t ,you will be surprise at the info you will receive.Take a new or old sdcard, does not matter cause it will be formatted anyway, boot to recovery with cwm, scroll to fornat sdcard, choose ext2 , select how much memory 2,3,4 gigs whatever , press power button to enter....done. now use link2sd , choose ext2 , good to go. I had it all working beautiful on kk , plenty or internal and external memory , could not leave well enough alone , flash another version of kk thinking I had the answer , now insufficient memory what ever I try for kitkat on my warp 4g?
