Root Partition table for HBOOT-6.93.1002

Dear All,

I got S-OFF using Revolutionary (revolutionary-0.4pre4). I now use Oxygen-2.3.2-Bravo and I love it! To be able to install even more apps I want to modify the partition table. I did a backup and then tried to with AlphaRev 1.8 HBOOT reflash utility but it told me that my HBOOT version was too new. I also understand that one could use PB99IMG.zip. I am just afraid that this will cause problems since I have a new HBOOT.

Is it possible to partition using Alpharev PB99IMG on a Desire with HBOOT-6.93.1002?

Unbranded
HBOOT-6.93.1002
Oxygen-2.3.2-Bravo
Revolutionary CWM v4.0.1.4

Please see attached picture when it has found PB99IMG, I have not yet dared to press Yes.

You just need to download a custom hboot from alpharev.nl and fastboot flash it. You do not use the alpharev utility to install it - that's only for getting S-Off in the first place.

There are instructions on alpharev.nl. The root memory faq, linked from the All Things Root Guide sticky post, will also help.

Do check you have a good download first (that's what the md5 codes are for). Follow all of the instructions, don't try to cut corners.

If there is anything you are unsure about, ask before proceeding. The procedure is quite safe if followed correctly, but mess up the hboot and you have a brick (and if I call something bricked I mean that there is nothing you can do to fix it).

Just one thing to add to Hadron's post above, which it does say in Alpharev's instructions but:

DO A FULL NANDROID BACK UP FROM RECOVERY FIRST. Re-partitioning will almost certainly scramble the data on all partitions.

1 Nandroid back up
2 Boot into fastboot & allow PB99IMG to do it's thing
3 Reboot into recovery & Nandroid restore

I guess this part from alpharev.nl applies for my case:

You can also download the corresponding PB99IMG zipfile, put it on your sdcard, and rename it to PB99IMG.zip. Then start the phone in HBOOT mode (VolDown+POWER) to flash the HBOOT without a PC. It is however still necessary to either restore your nandroid, or reflash your ROM after doing this. The partition LAYOUT has changed, the actual data still needs to be 'moved'.

So is the following what I should do?

1. Make Nandroid backup
2. Download PB99IMG_oxygenr2.zip from alpharev.nl
3. Put PB99IMG_oxygenr2.zip on SD card
4. Rename PB99IMG_oxygenr2.zip to PB99IMG.zip
5. Control checksum for hboot.img in PB99IMG.zip
6. Boot into HBOOT mode (VolDown+POWER)
7. It finds PB99IMG, select Yes (The screen attached in my first post)
8. When flash is finished make Nandroid restore

I performed the steps I described and it worked! I didn't have do restore the backup.
