Root Partitioning the SD card

Is there a means of partitioning the SD card without installing a rom or kernel? I'm rather attached to the factory rom.

Put it into your desktop or laptop (use a USB adapter if you don't have a computer with a card reader - you can get them for as little as $5) and you can partition it with FAT(32) partitions, but if you want to set up an ext-4 partition you're going to have to be running Linux. (The phone will mount a FAT partition.)

but if you want to set up an ext-4 partition you're going to have to be running Linux.

For those of you not running a Linux distro, you can burn a Live CD that will get you where you need to be:

Ubuntu Live CD

The partition manager you'll need is named GParted. It's easy to work with and has plenty of options.
