password for credentials??

i live in china therefore constantly need a vpn to access websites. after updating operating system for my nexus 4, any time i try to access my vpn i am prompted with following request- Type the password for credential storage - can anyone tell me what this or where to find it as it's not something i set myself?

Here in AF are some threads about ... in Settings, Security you'd find Credentials storage ... and credentials are clearable.

I use a VPN because I'm also in China. I've never seen this "credential storage" thing. I'd guess it's something specific to Nexus phones and 4.3 Android. I have a Samsung with 4.1 and I use Astrill for my VPN provider, on my Android phone as well as a Macbook and Linux PC.

You could contact your VPN provider see what they have to say, maybe that other Nexus 4.3 devices owners have had this issue.
 
I've realized that it is directly related with the type of screen lock you have. I disabled the PIN I had, and I could regain access to the VPN settings, although it asked me to provide one type of lock screen PIN or password in order to use credential storage.
