Help Password managers

I recently became concerned about my passwords all being the same for every app and site. It is a pain to change them all. I downloaded lastpass. Worked with it for a day and uninstalled it. I had no idea how to get it to make new passwords up for me that i wouldn't have to remember or worse, write down. Does any one know of an easier app to use? Or is there a source for how to use lastpass that i missed?

Hi, I use lastpass. I started using it on the desktop (Windows 8) and now I use the Android version as well. I use it mainly for the passwords on the Desktop, with a back-up for travelling on the Phone. These days it syncs across all devices, which is a big plus.

I find it relatively easy to use, but if you want I can try to answer any questions you have.

To generate a password:
Three bars on the Left hand side (I understand it is called a hamburger!) - Press it
Select "Generate Password"
Select "Save" and copy in app
Select "Settings" to adjust the Settings

Caveat: I have never use Last Pass Android App to generate a password for an App. Everything has been done via the desktop.

If you want to discuss it live, I use Discord for gaming so we can use that - just send me a PM and I will send you the link.

I seem to have great difficulty in pasting the newly generated passwords into the sign in web sites. Am i doing something wrong? Must be a trick to it. Or do you guys write it down and then type it in?

Hey

Nice question there , welcome to our forums first of all .

I just recommend you a simple thing , that i use for me and it works very well .

Whichever site it is . Make a password something related to and it should be enough long .

For example when i joined this site my password i kept is : " iamnewtoandroidforums"

and whenever i log in this site , My mind says on my own , Oh Yeah i know the password Lol.

You can choose to keep any capitals letters on your own, either for easiness maybe its always the first or last word.

Someone may see it as a crap idea , or is useful for someone else .

Nvm , i changed my password right now .

Thanks:D:p

As I do not use the app to generate a password. I tend to generate passwords manually, and use last pass to record them. However the recording is mainly done on the desktop.

I use the app when I needed either browsing on the phone, or if logging in elsewhere. When that happens, the app recognises that there is a login attached to the website, and asks for authorisation. Once given I am logged in. This is all performed automatically.

Sorry this isn't quite answering your problem.
