Password on screen unlock - basic question

How do I set a password lock that appears after a certain amount of time, or upon power up?

I thought I had set this, but now it seems to have disappeared, and I am no longer prompted to enter my PIN.

What is the way to set the code the pin number that must be entered after certain amount of time and also upon power on?

Double check that your settings are correct and you still have the PIN lock screen enabled.

Go into setting --> Lock Screen --> Screen lock (it should say PIN under screen) --> IF NOT, select PIN and setup your PIN
Then below you will see your settings, change Secured lock time to whatever you want. I have mine set to Instantly with the power key...
Now try it and also try a reboot, that should work. If not, change the lock type to swype then back and see if it fixes it

If that does not work, than something is wrong and you may need to do a factory rest (and REMEMBER IF YOU DO BACKUP YOUR MEMORY CARDS, THEY GET ERASED WHEN YOU FR)

Thank you James, Yep, I definitely did that before.

Now it seems to be back. Odd...

James, it happened again. I hadn't opened it for several hours and now the screen lock is completely off.

I will not have time to do a reset and reinstall everything before next trip, and then I'll be on international roaming charges.

Wow, that is not normal. My next suggestion is factory reset (as much as I hate to recommend it). Also when you do the factory reset, it wipes the internal sdcard, so make sure you backup your internal and external sdcards to a computer before you reset!

Hi

I have this time set to 10 minutes. If the screen times out through no use, the lock screen kicks in only after 10 minutes , but if I turn the screen of with a button or app, the lock screen is immediate. Is that what you are experiencing? Set your screen timeout to 30 seconds to check it!
