Help Password Problems

Sorry if this is a basic issue, but I have searched and have not found other threads addressing my problem. I love my Samsung Galaxy 10.1, but have one major frustration with certain apps that require me to log in to a user account. Many of these apps will not accept my password. Either the app will report a communication error and not send the password, will send but not recognize a valid password, or in one case, will overwrite as I type so that I cannot even enter the password in the field. The example I encountered most recently is the Fandango app, but this seems to be a common issue. I know there is no problem with my Fandango account itself because I can sign in using the Android browser, but there is not much reason to keep a dedicated Fandango app on the tablet at all then.

I believe the problem has something to do with mobile web page access, as I have had similar problems with other web sites accounts if I tried to access them through a mobile browser like Firefox Android. But what's the point of accessing mobile web sites on a tablet or phone if you lose major functionality? Is there a stupidly simple answer to this that I am missing?

Welcome to the forums!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D:D:D:D:D:D

I moved you over here so maybe you can get some answers to your situation

although I'm not sure that this is a Samsung or even a tablet-specific issue. Seems to me it may be a more basic question of how Android apps interface with mobile web sites.

Sorry I can't help to solve the problem but I too am having similar issues. I have managed with difficulty to sign into my bank online (but the selection of digits for the passcode kept disappearing under * signs! Makes it difficult to select a number!) Also, using the YouVersion Bible ap I found no visible symbols appeared in the username or password boxes - but if you persevered 'blind' as it were and managed to enter the details correctly, it accepted them and signed in - thankfully you don't have to sign in each time.
So my guess is that it's a mobile web site issue - perhaps the software on the Tab isn't decoding the website data correctly?

Yes, I've just looked and it is checked - it does show passwords in other apps but not the one I mentioned. In that case there is literally nothing that comes up - not even the anonymous dots!
The one that is most annoying is the online Bank one - but it could be an issue with their website?
Thanks for the comment anyway

Have you tried using a different keyboard? Lots of them preinstalled and there are a few good ones on the Market too.

I tried the 'English Voice Android keyboard' and that worked with the online banking sign-in. It now shows the numbers and allows a selection for the code entry and does it each time (tried twice with success).
I then tried using the same keyboard with the YouVersion Bible app. I think the significant difference here is probably due the fact that the Banking entries are done on the website and the YouVersion entry is done on their app. I get no display of characters at all coming up in the entry box on the app. However, as I previously reported, it is possible to sign in if you can get the entry correct when you are typing blind!
So thanks for solving one problem - I suggest that I should contact YouVersion and inform them of the issue - it might be a known problem for them. ;)

YouVersion say: "The issue you report is a known issue...a result of the Honeycomb Android version update. However, glad to hear you figured out that you can still log in to your account even though you can't see the text typed into the screen. At this point in time, Android tablets are not officially "supported" by the current version of the YouVersion app. They work, as you've found out, but there are a number of features that are either not available, or that have a few bugs.
You'll be happy to know that the development team is aggressively working on a Android tablet app right now. This will have full Honeycomb support. I'm not aware of the release date for it at this point, but it will likely be pretty soon."
