Help password protected sites issue

Lurker
So I've used the search function and google, but I just couldn't find any help to this problem. Sorry if this has been answered before.

I'm trying to download a pdf file from a password protected site. The file itself is NOT password protected, so there is no problem with the pdf viewer or anything.
If I open the page on my laptop a login box pops up that requires a password to even enter the site where i can download the files. For some reason the same login box wont pop-up when I'm surfing the site on my galaxy tab, leading me directly to the site to download the desired files without entering any information.

So I'm trying to open/download one of the pdf files now and it says that the file couldn't be downloaded. I'm thinking that this is due to the fact, that the site is password protected and the galaxy tab browser bypasses this somehow. Any ideas how to fix this?

Cheers
Dennis

Hello deyniz, and welcome to the forums.

I'm thinking that any misconfiguration of the browser in the tab may disallow certain pages to fully load. The path to some downloads at a website often needs a sort of "connect-a-dot" link that is provided by java or javascript coding.

First clear cache and data in the application manager for the browser you're using, then go into the browser's settings menu and make sure all of that is enabled, then reboot the device and go for it again.

Wait. Thought it would be working, since I had to enter a password now, but the pdf files still wont download. Boo. :(

Nevermind, I just downloaded Opera for mobile, which is working fine now. Sorry to bother and thanks for the help again.
