Help password

hi all newby here,
my mate has a tab A, after an update when the screen asks to swipe, he does and it comes up enter password.
he does that but the tablet will not accept pass word.
tried restart, nothing
total power off, nothing

any ideas please.

you are gonna have to a hard reset. before you do so, make sure you guys know the email and password for your google account. doing a hard reset will trip FRP (factory reset protection) and you will need to know the google acct info used to setup the device initially.

The question was like code to me. I was an MS MVP. Nice bunch during my tenure but they didn't dig beer. Even in Seattle. Who'd a thunk it?
