Passwords

Has anybody had trouble with Passwords? I had to reset almost all if not all of my passwords. I thought it was the security of the phone! Or could it be just me... lol

I think is just you...
LOL..... :D

Seriously, what prompted you to reset all or most of your passwords?
Did any apps ask for a reset,or,were they simply not working?
For example, your Google or e-mail accounts.I can't imagine any scenario to where your password is simply not gonna work anymore.
I can think of a couple things that might be going on:
1) Which keyboard are you using?
If it's misbehaving,it could be mistyping your input.
I uninstalled SwiftKey for this very reason. It's been my go-to keyboard for years, but has been a colossal POS for a couple months now.
2) You've clicked on some pop-up/scare ware that has had you install some "SaviorWare".
Ignore these pop-ups & all pop-ups for that matter,as much as possible.

I highly recommend you give this post a read & disable the CheetahMobile Malware that Samsung has allowed to be pre-installed on our phones ( a money grab @ your expense, allowing your data to be mined,THX Samsung).

To keep it from running,do not use the SmartManager app.
Go to Settings > Applications >Application Manager > All > scroll down to Cheetah Mobile CleanMaster SDK & make sure it reads 0.00 data.If not,do so.
Repeat these steps for SmartManager.

This is not alarmist screaming "The Sky is Falling",just some info to keep your phone safe from snooping/malware.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you read & watch this thread as well & you'll get a better picture of what I'm talking about.

Click on the links in the thread for detailed information & sources for why the distrust of Cheetah Mobile.

I looked and I don't see anything about cheetah mobile. I also saw your other post about data usage and all I see there is play services and lmt.
Is it possible that not all carriers went for cheetah mobile?

Possible,I suppose.
Which model do you have?

If you have Smart Manager in your app drawer, you have Cheetah Mobile on your phone, regardless if the CheetahMobile CleanMaster SDK is listed or not.
VZW & AT&T are notorious for hiding things & locking 'em down vs others w/the same phone (unlocked & other carrier branded models).
I'd put money on it.
Believe me,if the VZW NOTE 5 didn't have CheetahMobile's crapware on it,it'd be known by now & people would be praising VZW for not having it.
That, & I'm led to believe if VZW were to go sans Cheetah, they would have done so w/the Galaxy s6/Edge,as these were the two phones that 1st saw the crapware.
Samsung went as far as mentioning the business partnership w/Cheetah @ MWC 2015,another reason I'm led to believe it's on the VZW Note5,hidden or not.

Smart manager is in all applications but not in the app drawer.
Now I'm certain we all have the same garbage on our phones,in one shape/form or another.
You have piqued my interest regarding both the VZW & AT&T variants.
I'm gonna stop by both after work tomorrow & have a look-see & compare.
I'll snap some pix of both if the clerks allow me to.
Be back tomorrow. :thumbsupdroid:

Samsung was clear in the press release - the S6 and newer flagships have Cheetah Mobile baked in to the task management - and that's for everyone, everywhere, visible or not.

I store a few of my passwords on my phone... and when I go back to the site and try to log it it won't accept the stored password... a few I actually had to reset just to get in the site! Mind you I store them only after I put in the right password and get into the site.. then when I come back and try to log in with the stored info that just worked... it won't work!

OK,back on topic, sorry if it seemed to drift a bit.
This is rather odd.
If you log-in to these sites from your PC w/no problems & just now started to have issue signing-in on your phone,I don't really know what the cause could be,other than an errant keyboard,or,as I mentioned, something on your phone masquerading as the sites you visit & prompting you to change your passwords.
I've had no issues signing-in or staying signed-in on my accounts.

As I mentioned earlier, disregard the pop-ups if they appear & just be mindful of what you d/l to your phone.
Disabling the bloatware that is pre-installed by your carrier is recommended as well.
Pleas keep us posted if you continue to have issues/more password change prompts,or,if anything nefarious is happening w/the accounts you've changed passwords on.

No problems on the pc or my note three... just started with this phone! I have disabled the bloat on the phone but I can't find the cheetah!

OK... just went thru and checked all my apps that require password.. after the initial reset of the password they work... they wont stay logged in but they work. But when I save a password in Google for my websites... they wont work.. it says its wrong and I have to reenter it! I don't have to reset it again.. it just won't accept to stored password!

I've come across some sites that are like that, long before I bought this phone:
1) I can save my log-in credentials @ some sites,no problem.
2) Others,it saves the USER ID,but, you have to re-enter the password (banking sites/etc...),this is a security feature, also usually having a time-out feature & will prompt a password re-entry after several minutes of non-use.
3) Some sites just do not like auto-fill & you have to re-enter your credentials every time you use the site.

For the abovementioned scenarios,if this is what has been happening, this sounds fairly standard & your info security is probably OK.

If you've had pop-ups from sites prompting you to change your password, that may be something else posing as the site you're logging into.
The next time you have one of these sites prompt you to actually change your password, don't.
Instead, contact the customer care/etc.... & ask 'em about their policy regarding such before changing it.
