Path for java

Can anyone tell me how to set path to java in windows8? I have 64 bit so I read on tapatalk that I have to install both 32and 64 bit version..ok but in what dir x86 or program files or both..eclispe wont run but i have javac

ok, well let me start off by saying this is not the right place to ask this question. there are other sections for that

secondly if the proper java package is installed properly path is irrelevant windows will know its there and eclipse will too

you probably have JRE the java runtime environment, you need something different, which you could easily identify by doing a google search or asking in the right place though i suggest google searching it kuz if you cant even figure that much out on your own eclipse will be useless to you

There's a step-by-step guide here. I started to describe how I did it many eons ago, but this probably makes more sense.
