Pay with PayPal on the Android Market?

I own a Galaxy S (i9000) with Froyo (I know, why don't I have Gingerbread? Because I am rooted and I would need to do a lot more to update to Gingerbread than you non-rooted guys ;) (EDIT: just moved to Gingerbread ;))

Now, I don't own a credit card and I do not want to own one. I read some articles from late 2010 about that the Android Market now accepts PayPal as an option to pay for apps in the Android Market. Though, when I want to purchase an app, it doesn't show PayPal as an option to pay.

I live in The Netherlands, if that matters.

Your other option (if they have them in the Netherlands) is to use a pre paid card

I don't know what you mean about free internet cards. A pre paid card is attached to an account that you pre-load with funds so there is no credit involved. You use it like any other credit / debit card in ATM's or for purchases etc. I have one that I load in Euros for when travelling in the Euro zone to avoid paying bank charges. Your other option is to use a debit card that would work like Pay Pal.

it's like paypal, but a digital credit card. I heard something about that visa or mastercard provide them but couldn't find anything thrustworthy about that?

Hmm, Anybody knows if a Western Union Prepaid Mastercard works for Android Market? I can't get a straight answer from the guys at the Western Union here in my place.

FWIW, my approach (because I'm old and paranoid about using a real credit/debit card online :)): I opened a checking account that had a Visa logo card as its debit card. It has since switched to Mastercard, but it works the same. I use that card online, and only keep a smallish amount in the checking account. I use that card for Paypal and I also registered the same debit card w/ the Market.

So far, it's been free with no monthly charges like some of the prepaid cards, but I believe that's going to change for my (US) bank, so I may have to rethink my plan.
