PC Desktop manager

My HTC Thurnderbolt is getting slow and I was considering initializing it back to defaults to clear whatever it is that's making it so. When I mentioned this to a friend he suggested I use a desktop app, like the one he uses for IPhone and Blackberry, to backup the phone just in case.

Is there such a beast for the Android?

Not that I’m aware of, but you you could try History Eraser to clear up your accumulated crud.

I just use my USB data cable. Hook my phone up to my computer and just transfer/back-up everything from my SD card and Internal storage to a folder I created on my computer desktop. It takes a little longer, but take this opportunity to clean out my folders.
