I've successfully rooted my KFHD usind SRSRoot for Android, but my laptop does not recognise the device in My Computer - using windows xp I go to to Device Manager and Kindle is there, along with sub-folder - Android ADB interface and Android Composite ADB interface, the properties say both devices are working, although the drivers are not digitally signed. The KFHD opens and I can get on the internet ok, but can't transfer anything or programme any further for google play store etc. Any advice appreciated ;-/

so what your saying is, you want to access your Kindle Fire HD's SD on the Pc righ ? try uninstalling the drivers (right click Kindle and choose uninstall)with the KFHD plugged in. then unplug KFHD and reboot PC. then plug it back in and let the drivers reinstall and see if it shows up in My Computer. you can also try Android Commander
