Help PC not seeing phone

All of a sudden today when I plugged my phone into my pc through the USB to back it up and copy some pictures to my PC the menu on the phone didn't come up asking what I wanted to do? charge, mass storage etc. And the same on the PC in my computer it doesn't see it nor does the message come up to open files to view. Nothing was changed so Im not sure why it's happening. I restarted the phone and the PC to see if that works but nothing.

I fixed it. It was the usb cable (it was only charging). Change the cable and the notification came in the bar saying checking storage. Geez something so simple.
