PC to Gallery Image Transfer

RFPhotog

Lurker
New to the Android platform with a Galaxy S2 LTE. I'm wanting to transfer image files from my computer to the phone and make them available for viewing in the Gallery. I know how to turn on the USB storage so I can see the phone in my drive hierarchy. Obviously I can drag & drop files back and forth. But (a) where do I drop the image files to on the phone, (b) how do I make them available in the Gallery and (c) how do I organise them into albums either before putting them on the phone or once they're on the phone?

The user manual on the Samsung site is pretty much useless.

Thanks.

On your extern SD card you could create a directory with folders for the pictures as you like (e.g. a folder "Pictures" and in its the folders with the themes).
After you unmount your phone as USB drive from PC the gallery should recognizes the folders with pictures.

Thanks, Harry. I didn't realise simple drag & drop would work.

Gekko, I'll check out those others as well. Thanks.

use a Dropbox referral link from the forums (see below) and get free space. then use Dropbox and dump your pics in a "Photos" folder. then download the Dropbox app on your phone. then you can manually sync the folder. all photos should show up in your Gallery app. you can create sub folders to organize the photos. also - check out the beta Dropbox app in their forum (see below). Dropbox is awesome. this way - you can do all of it WIRELESSLY.

good luck.
