Have HP dv9000 series laptop w/ Vista home premium - 1 wk old Dinc2 (Verizon) FYI. Have spent more time than any human should have to talking with techs from HTC, Verizon, Microsoft Vista guru, etc. Have installed and uninstalled HTC sync, V-cast media manager, etc. No luck. Got windows to load the drivers after HTC sync installed--all loaded; however, still could not see disk drive in explorer. Tried with & without USB debugging. Would only load drivers in debugging mode. Have scanned my computer with Avast, Malware bytes & spybot--nothing found. Both my phone and the wife's act the same. One note, works fine on my desk top running XP. Therefore it has GOT to be a Vista problem. Any ideas out there other than dumping Vista & going to Linux (which is probably the best)?

Exactly! Anything except Vista. Talked with several people running older and newer versions of Windows and they seem to have any problems to speak of. It is cheaper for me to get a new laptop than upgrade to Win 7. Will look into the Linux shell. TKS
