pc won't recognize tablet device's folders

[Android Question]

when I plug my tablet into my pc, only the device shows up, but I can't get to any of the folders inside, in particular not to my sd card, where I want to create and Audiobooks folder.

Make and model of the tablet? Version of the operating system in the computer? Where did you download the drivers from?
