PDAnet bought out FoxFi

Just notice this on the FoxFi site, which no longer has download links for those blocked in the market, no updates, just links to PDAnet help section that are broken just php warnings and fatal errors....

There wasn't a forced update, although there is a nagging popup you can cancel. I actually went ahead with the (free) download because I found myself in need of the USB tethering option that PDAnet offers, and my license carried over.

wasnt but a few weeks ago FoxFi forced an update and license to buy if you didn't want it to turn off ever 5 min, then a few weeks later its sold off, there will be more forced updates, as you know they want all those download install stats from FoxFi page to boost the PDAnet download stats in the play store.

and of course it will cost again as, your now getting PDAnet option I don't want.

No.

1. The PDAnet download is NOT required for the wifi tethering to work. You will get a popup that makes it SOUND like it's required, but it isn't. PDAnet is only required if you need the USB tethering, which I found myself in need of when I broke my desktop's wireless adapter.

2. If you paid for the full license in FoxFi, it carries over to PDAnet. You are not required to pay for a new license.
