Help pdanet ~ Cricket ~ 4g

I installed pdanet 4.1 on my ascend 2 and on my latop running win 7 home.

They connect fine but I get a message from cricket saying they want 10 dollars extra to connect to the internet.

I was under the impression that the pdanet allowed you to connect to the without being detected by your carrier. I have a friend using pdanet 4.1 on a m860 using metro and he connects fine.

Have the rules changed with cricket and 4g?
