PDANet+ opinions?

Couldn't find any up-to-date info on PDANet+ so thought I'd ask. I'm changing networks tomorrow and moving to a plan with Three in the UK that doesn't allow tethering. I hardly ever need to tether (maybe 5 or 6 times a year and then only for a few minutes) but it would be handy to know I could.

I have downloaded PDANet before changing and tested it with my iPad and laptop and it works fine. I'm just interested to know whether it really works in that Three wouldn't be able to detect tethering? I have read that if they know that you have downloaded the app they can work out that you have been tethering but I already have it before switching to Three so, if that's true, it would be OK.

Does anyone have any thoughts on PDANet+ please?

If they don't allow tethering and they catch you tethering, one of two things will probably happen. Either you'll get a bill for the difference between what you pay and their tethering plan (from the day you started with them) - or your phone will suddenly stop working because they'll terminate your account (and never give you another one).

Those are my thoughts on tethering when your account doesn't allow it.

Annoyingly, I decided to go the legitimate route with my provider, Three, and can't get it to work even with their help.
