pdaNet Still Using Data

Kamau

It was my understanding that this app would not increease the data usage, yet when I used it my data usage did go up. Is my understanding wrong, or have I done something incorrectly? I was using it through a usb cable.

No, what it does is keeps them from knowing you are Internetting using a device attached to your device.

Any data you use will apply to any limit you may have. Doesn't matter what the data is used for.

Im not worried about that. I pay for unlimited data, now I find out that its not unlimited. I also pay extra to tether, and now I find out its a limit to that before they slow me down.

If you are paying your carrier to tether, you should use your carrier's hotspot/tether app. PDAnet is for those of us who dont pay our carriers.

This Android thing is gonna take some getting use to I see.
I was under the wrong impression about pdaNet. I do pay to tether, but I thought the app was to get around the 2g limit. I'm glad I got the free version first.

Yep, PDAnet still uses data. The point of it is, it kind of "disguises" the tethering. So your carrier thinks you are just using data on your phone, not your computer.
