People can't call me without entering a code

What is that all about? No calls come through anymore. They receive a message telling them to enter some 10 digit code. Of course, this code is non-existent so no one gets through. I did not knowingly sign up for anything that would require this. I use this phone for business and it's costing me lost jobs!

How do I make it stop? It's been happening for about a week now.

When you call, find out how it got set up that way 'cuz I would kind of pay for that service.

It was Google Voice causing the problem, which I had disconnected 3 years ago at least. When Google Market became Google Play it reactivated it. GRRRRRRRR.

Thanks everyone!!

Google Voice is just barely 3 years old. Anyway, glad you got it fixed. I'm curious how that caused it though.

If you want to split hairs over how long ago I stopped using it - OK - I honest to God stopped using it about 2 days after I started using it, so it very well could have been three years ago. I didn't like it. I was obviously guessing at how long ago it was. Geesh - would you like me to go into my Google history and lok it up? Will that make you feel better?

Regardless of length of time - I signed up for it - didn't like it - you cannot deactivate it but I went in and check-marked everything that would make it not be in use.

OK - is that better?

I don't know how it affected it. I called Sprint and they could tell right away it was a Google voice issue. So it's now not surprising this issue started the same time that Google Play popped on my phone. Anyway, I was on hold for about three minutes and they had fixed it somehow on their end.

I just told a friend about it and he had had the same problem with Google Voice. So we both concurred that Google Voice does indeed suck as I thought to begin with.

Hmm, I never really had any problems with Voice itself. Though, I use it for voicemail mainly because I don't like calling a number to listen to a message. I only have one line so many of the other features don't really appeal to me.

It did take nearly 7 months for it to forward properly if my phone was in South Dakota though. It just sort of sorted itself. As soon as my phone got a tower in Minnesota, voicemail forwarded properly. Never did figure out if it was a Verizon or Google issue.

Wow...touchy much? Why did a simple comment make you so defensive? Anyway, glad you got the issue fixed.

Would you feel better if he prostrated himself before you and apologized for stating a fact?
