Performance difference between 16gb and 32 gb models?

Is there a performance difference between 16gb and 32 gb models?

I understand that a stock SIII only stores apps internally. My 7 month old Rezound still has 10gb free internal storage on it's 16gb internal capacity, so I don't think I'd need more internally.

But even if videos play better on internal storage, I can't see recording more than an hour at a time, or storing more than 2 or 3 movies at a time.

So, are there any other performance gains to be had by ordering the 32gb version?

No it just means 32gb is more storage space than 16gb. Means more music, videos apps can be installed on the device, but the phone itself won't be faster. Besides the S3 has a micro sd slot, so adding storage is not a problem.

So practically speaking,if I'm okay with the external storage capacity, the only advantage to 32 gb is app space?

Yes.
All it does is save you from buying a memory card. I'm a fan of more space since on this vacation, I forgot my dedicated camera. My phone is serving overtime as a camera and video recorder. No phone is a substitute for a camera, but at least I have a picture taking device.

I am not 100% positive but I would think the internal memory would be at least a little faster than a add on card.

I've heard that also. Some have said it is only relivent if trying to record a HD movie to SD. I'd assume it goes to interanl memory and users can move to SD. Maybe someone could verify that. What is HD, about 17mb/second? I know there is different compressions in computer land so HD can be like 7-20mb/sec. Throw in a slow SD card and you might get jerky video if you are recording straight to the SD.
I think some research needs to be done.
1) where is video natively recorded to
2) what is the data rate of the SIII video
3) Can it write to SD and if so, what speed is recommended by Sammy?
4) Simple math to see how long you could record before filling internal memory of a 16gb model phone with only 10gb available after OS and apps.
I think that full HD will need to be shipped off internal memory fairly often if it is a high data rate and only 16gb of internal memory.
