Help permissions for apps

I have noticed a lot of applications from within market have changed permissions to allow phone camera to take and use photos at any time. Should I worry about this? It is stopping me updating apps at the moment......
Hope someone can explain and/or reassure?

Depends which app. Some apps don't take "random" pictures but need that permission to take pictures at all when you want them, like a camera app or something.


If you know that the app doesn't need to use the camera and you don't want it, there is a way to not allow just that permission so it shouldn't be able to take random pictures.

Is your phone rooted?

Oh well you can take off permissions you don't want when you're rooted. Anyways google isn't very strict with the market so there's a lot of viruses and stuff but usually in the reviews pople will say it
