Person I call can't hear me

this is happening fairly often.

I make a phone call and the person can't hear me. they get silence.

I reboot the phone and then it works.

does this happen to anyone else? what is causing it?

My wife has a habit of putting her Moto X4 over her hair and it messes with the proximity sensor and somehow prevents me from hearing her or having her conversation broken up. I have the same phone and don't have the problem. Make sure there isn't anything obstructing the sensors like hair, a screen protector, a case, etc. and see if that helps.
