Does anybody know how to personalize message ringtones for each contact

Are they phone contacts or google contacts? If they are phone contacts just long press on contact,select edit,scroll down to ringtones.

You can't set custom "messaging" sounds for each contact. I use Handcent SMS it is a great alternative to the stock messaging program and it can be customized in almost every way. go to the market and check it out best of all...its free.
