Phandroid App Rocks!

Just a quick question-when will the Apps and Search sections be added? Thanks again for a great app.

Which version did you download? Staff and premium members get access to the newer beta versions :)

We're happy to hear that you enjoy the app... and we're happy that you decided to go premium!

I downloaded it from the Market. Why was my post asking when the Apps and Search features would be added deleted?

I think it was a mistake - it looks like it was deleted b/c it looked like a double post, but in actuality you made two distinct posts.

Ask it again.

Yup, when I read the thread it simply said 'nevermind' and so I assumed it was a double post. Sorry for the confusion :)

I'm still on the alpha version, with the devs close by..

Undeleted Post

(Not sure if/when those will be added - in fact I'm campaigning to have those buttons removed altogether)

That's too bad. It would be nice to have the app store included, although it's not a problem to use it via the browser. :)

Okay, I really enjoy the Phandroid app but you would think that it could be made not to be a memory hog but I guess not. I only use this app for the forums and not for any news or anything else. I noticed that I simply cannot turn off the news service. Today when I checked it was gobbling 20MB of RAM, for what reason I do not know. I'd love to keep the app but does anyone know how to get this news service turned off and keep it off? I've turned off all the notification stuff in settings and so far hasn't touched it.

I've seen other people say the same as you, and I know it does that on my phone too, although I've seen it up to 40/50MB of RAM. (And yeah, I have disabled everything in the news preferences). It's been mentioned (several times) in the beta thread the developer posts in, so I can only assume he knows of the problem.

So good news, it's not a problem with your phone. Bad news, we just have to wait it out at the moment :(

It certainly is! Thank you, EVERYONE, here at Android Forums for this amazing forum!!!

I have had so much help from so many people and so much patience from people that it is ridiculous that this place isn't more popular. This is the number one friendliest place to be as well as most informative and laid back. Keep on rocking AF!!!

And the app is amazing too. One of those must have apps for my phone. The notifications aren't annoying either and neither are your notifications sent to my e-mail. Great site. I wouldn't do a thing differently here.
