Phantom Vibrations

Firebreak

Newbie
Greetings,

Have you ever felt your phone vibrate, then look at it and find there's no missed calls or any other reason for the vibration. Have you ever felt it vibrate, then check and find out it's actually sitting on the table and not on you?

I have recently been getting this a lot. I normally keep my personal phone in my shirt pocket. When it vibrates, I feel it in my left chest area. Quite often I feel a vibration and check the phone and there's nothing. At first, I just assumed the phone had vibrated and thought it was odd, but oh well.

I eventually started to clue in that it actually is not vibrating at all. I have verified by touching the phone quickly to check if it's vibrating, and by putting the phone in another place to see if I feel it, and I do.

Further, I recently had my work phone upgraded to a blackberry and have it in a holster on my right hip. At first, it was as per normal, but now that I've had it there for more than a month, I'm getting these "Phantom Vibrations" on my right hip now too.

They feel a bit duller than an actual vibration, they last for the same duration, and they feel slightly internal compared to real vibrations.

Anyone else experience this?

Thanks!

Used to get this all the time with my old dumb phone. Somehow get it less now that I have a smartphone. Maybe that just means I'm less popular though. Some psychologist could probably get a few articles published studying this stuff though.
