Help phantom voice while on a call

RFAndroid

Lurker
i support users and this one has me stumped. i have a high ranking person in the company that has come to me saying that when he is on a phone call, a female voice will interrupt the conversation and proceed to tell him "how many emails he has". i have NOT been able to recreate this to hear for myself but being who he is, we do not question. Has anyone heard of such a phenomenon and what can be done to correct it?

question 2: there are 3 email accounts setup on this device. when i connect the phone to a "free" wifi signal (like at a mcdonalds) i am unable to send or receive emails to any of these accounts. as soon as i disable wife and connect to the t-mobile network, emails flood in and out. i AM able to send and receive while connected to our wifi at work.

again and ALL help would be greatly appreciated. the quicker the better so i can appease thise person.

probably built into software to not send passwords and other login credentials for mail retrieval over un-secured access points. that seems normal to me. and if your work wifi requires a password, the phone knows this and assumes its secure.

as for the phantom voice. I haven't heard that but if its coming from the phone there is a list of things to check. going in order of most likely to least likely.

1. software bug. maybe he has text to speech on and it happens to turn on while mid call. try turning off all TTS systems and TTS notifications.

2. Radio interference. unlikely but who knows.
