Help Phone And 3G Signal Boost?

I have had the Optimus V for about 3 weeks. Outside my office building I get great reception. Once I step inside the signal drops substantially but I am near the front of the building now and get some reception which varies. I am moving to a different area of the building toward the back with no windows nearby and in that area I only get 1 bar of signal at best if I stand or sit still. I wonder how this will effect 3G as well. I have seen "signal boosters" but have no idea if they work and some are too expensive just to get better reception at work.
Can anyone recommend a booster if they do work, and is 3G similarly effected and would a booster help 3G as well? Thanks.

^_^. Great question loaferman. 3g's connection speed depends on your regular Service connection strength. If you don't have service you don't have 3g. Similarly if you have poor reception your 3g WILL be slower. These "Signal Boosters" come in 2 varieties. A quick google search will fill you in on the details, but basically what the "Signal Boosters" do is receive the cellular service via an antenna, and then repeat or make the signal stronger through some fancy wiring and mathematical procedures, and finnaly spit it back out using a similar antenna. The "boosted" signal is received by your phone and you get better service. ^_^

You could also try doing a PRL swap to be able to use all of sprints towers but only if your confident in getting into the depths of your phone.
