Phone/Call/Logs screen colors

I've had my Samsung Galaxy Express since January and love it.

Originally, every single menu on my phone had white-text on black-background. This was very pleasing and easy on the eyes.

Ever since an OS update a few weeks back, my Phone / Call / Logs Screens are themed in black-text on white-background, but no other screen was altered.

Is there a way to change this back? I've looked everywhere I can think to, even searching these forums, and it burns my eyes in the middle of the night...

(the About Device screen says "Android version 4.1.2" and is up to date)

Other than complicated things... all i can suggest is using the "Negative Colours" widget that some Galaxys have included
