I am so scared that I will do something to break my lovely new Nexus, so I thought I had better ask my really silly question on here! I have two phone chargers that fit my old Nexus One. Can I use them on my Galaxy Nexus?

Yes if it fits should pull the same elec to charge maybe slower.
I can use my Gnexus charger with my Droid X there all mini USB ports.

Thanks guys. I was just frightened of breaking it by using my old charger! I'll use the old one at night then when it doesn't matter if it's slow and the proper one in the day when I will need faster charging.

It is part of the USB spec that a port/cable is not able to damage a device, regardless of differences in power requirements. So as long as you get the cable from a reputable manufacturer, you can connect any USB Micro B adapter and it will work at the best possible rate without damaging your equipment. The Wikipedia page on USB has more under the Power section if you like reading about voltages and amps and such.
