Phone contacts deletion

Greetings,

How do I delete multiple unwanted contacts on my droid x?

I can't find where they are stored in any folders!

Thanks,
Doug

Do you have your contacts syncing to Google? If you do, the easiest way is to log into your GMail account from a PC. Delete / Edit the contacts you want and the changes will show up on your phone the next time it syncs to Google's server.

Thanks for replying!

I'll try that. I had them deleted once, my daughters old contacts, and it was good for awhile then all of sudden they appeared again. I thought out might be from our verizon account.

It's not from Google. It has to be from my Verizon cloud account. If there isn't anyway to do it on the phone I'll have to check Verizon's syncing out.

Let me know if there is another way.
thanks, Doug

You won't find them as files in a folder. Like other app data they will be stored in a database in the /data/data area, so you need to use the contacts app to edit them.

If you think that the VZW sync is overriding your edits then you will have to check that out.

I personally would just turn off the Verizon sync. It's already syncing with Google so there really is not need for Verizon.

I was told that if I deleted the ones I wanted then the last time I synced it would delete them in google also. Is that true?

Thanks, Doug
