phone contacts / sim contacts

i have copied my sim contacts to my phone as per set up but contacts are still showing on sim.
How do I a: have all contcs show on my phone ans b: delete contacts off my sim.

I am using an HTC DEsire HD on Vodafone UK

With 'Peoples' contacts, you can choose (Peoples > Menu button > View > check box SIM).
With the phone book, the only way is to delete the contacts on the SIM.
But note, it's not easy to write back the contacts to the SIM.
