Help Phone conversation quality

I have been told be people I usually call to and get calls from that they are having some difficulty hearing me. Specifically they say that my voice sounds a bit flat and sometimes words are skipped. I tried from different locations and it is basically the same. I am coming from an iPhone and wonder are there any general Android phones recommendations for improving a quality of phone conversations? After all, this is the most important piece.

Thanks

By flat, do you mean low voice?
Is it the same when you have it in speaker mode? I ask because I had the same issue. The person on the other line said my voice sounded better when I had it in speaker mode. I exchanged my phone and it seems to do better.

Some people who more technically savvy are saying that voice is too digitized. I have researched the problem and some user say it's a firmware to upgrade. I personally am going to exchange as well. And keep doing, and doing, and doing, and doing. I cannot believe a problem like this would have be happening to a device of such capacity.
