Help Phone crushed

My galaxy s5 was crushed this weekend. the screen is shattered. I can still hear when I get a text, email, facebook, etc. But when I try to hook it up to the computer the get stuff off it it doesnt show on my laptop. I hear the tone like it hooks up but it does show on my laptop. Can anyone assist me? I would really like to get some files and things.

As it appears that it is working somewhat, give this a try.

on the web, goto Play Store and find MyPhoneExplorer.

Once that installs, and you have also installed the Windows PC version on your PC, just plug in the USB cable and open the PC version. Even w/o unlocking the screen, you can pull some stuff off the phone.
for full access to get files, apps, etc, you will need to be able to unlock the screen on the phone. It works a treat sometimes. worth a shot.
