phone does not recognize texted pictures

Recently purchased a new android (BLU) phone and put my old sim card in it. I can make phone calls and text, but I cannot send or receive pictures through text. was told my phone does not recognize the sim card IMEI. Service is ATT.

If you can do calls and texts then the SIM sounds like it is working at least partially.

Picture messages (MMS) require mobile data, so my guess is that's where the problem lies. The first thing to check is your APN settings ("Access Point Names" - should be in the system's mobile data settings). You should be able to find the correct values for ATT from the ATT website. Some networks have separate APNs for data and MMS.

If the APNs are OK and MMS still doesn't work you should talk to ATT. It may be that you need a newer SIM for data to work properly with that handset.
