Help Phone doesn't vibrate when receiving texts

ok, i am using the Handcent app and have disabled the default (stock) messaging; i have also disabled the default messaging notifications since i would get notifications twice from a single text (one from Handcent and another from default); now since i stopped the notifications for the default and now only use Handcent for SMS, my phone doesn't vibrate when i receive a SMS (only the trackball will light up);

is there any way to get the phone to vibrate with SMS with only using Handcent; i have the handcent set to always vibrate but it never does; any help would be appreciated
