I'm new to the Android community even though I've had my phone for a while. And figure this might b the best place for a certain question. Is there a trick on how to get phone finder to work for my HTC inspire?

Is this via htcsense.com? This has been a problem since htcsense.com was announced. It works for probably 10% of users and HTC are constantly working on it.

Yes. The trick is don't use it. There are much better free apps in the market to do this. Lookout is well received, but there are others. If you ask over in the HTC Inspire 4G forum, I'm sure there will be users who will tell you which app works best (for them).

Yes, definitely try Lookout from the Android Market have it on my HTC Desire and the scream function works like a charm, brilliant.
Also try 'GPS Tracker' by instamapper from the market. You will need to create a free account at instamapper.com first though. I use this when riding my bike home from work. Very good so far. Make sure you have unlimited internet on your phone otherwise it will cost you a fortune if not.
