Help Phone freezes/lockups up, I restart and then battery drops 15+%

Title pretty much says it all. I have a stock, i777 running on 2.3.6 and yesterday out of the blue, the phone would lock up (not respond to any touches on the screen, the power button or the volume rocker) so I would pull the battery out and restart it. When I did, the battery would drop off like 15%.

I did a search but didn't find any relevant issues. Many people simply complained about battery drops after regular restarts, not after freezes.

Would greatly appreciate some help!

The battery drop most likely has to do with the battery pulls, not the freezing. I think all that is happening is that the battery meter's calibration gets thrown off. From my experience, the phone usually is reporting lower than actual battery level, so the battery is probably fine.

I agree. and my phone locks up like that too. try holding down the power button until it shows the samsung galaxy s2 screen. takes a long time to restart when it's like that but it will restart. no need to pull the battery.

Mine does this, too, and so did my Epic. The battery percentage I see is not accurate, BUT it most definitely did lose a ton of battery life.
