Phone freezes & sometimes resets

Was working fine until recently. Saw a post on FB right after phone started acting up about solar flares causing communication problems so I thought that would be the end of it but problems persist.
Any thoughts on this?

I don't know if people know about this but this phone has a weird way of keeping its performance fairly OK.

What I'm saying is that if you have this phone (OT Fierce) and you notice it slows down after a few months of using it is highly likely that the problems is with your storage.

Yes, if you have not used a SD card in this device through those months you will notice the slowing of, well everything.

I dont know why this happens but yeah delete or move apps off your Internal Storage to and SD card and the old fierce performance will be back. Around 500MB or 200MB will do. Just keep the internal storage has enough space and you'll do fine.

After you put a SD card in, go to settings/storage and tick SD CARD. This will put your data on to the SD card instead of in internal memory since this is an embedded operation in the 4.2.2 OS. Then use root exployer and go to /storage/sdcard1 and move your data to /storage/storage/sdcard0 .
This will keep your device running smoothly and it will be safer if the phone crashes or you need to factory reset. Don't forget to open camera and in its settings & set save your pictures to the external card too, so you won't loose your pictures. After I rooted with FRAMAROOT 1.8.1 I put all my data and backed up stuff on there just incase something goes wrong.

Put an SD card in when I first got phone and have always move any apps and anything I could to card.
I have disabled whatever I could to save space. I'm afraid to root the damn thing because I've heard too many horror stories.
At least this photo e gives me the option of storing apps to the SF card. My husband's doesn't.
I have the phone set up so that everything is backed up to the cloud. Do I still need to move the photos to the card also or do they go there automatically since I have settings set to save to card?

No you'll be okay if you didn't take pictures before you installed your sd card. I just didn't want you to loose your pictures if you did have to factory reset. That Will cause you to erase your internal memory.
Most times people do a factory reset when their phones performance is compromised. If you look in settings/applications/running you may see what is running and slowing down your phone. Just go to applications in settings and clear the apps cash or stop it and it may help.

edit: You don't have to root this phone since it doesn't have a recovery anyway.
You don't even need it to debloat. The app manager does a good job of it.
Just disable or uninstall what you want.

Thanks for the help. I installed Clean Master a couple of weeks ago. It keeps telling me that there are apps eating up my memory and slowing the phone down. Then it advised me to install other apps from the same company. It's kind of infuriating.
These phones should come with more storage than the basic 2 gigs if the apps eat up so much space.
Thanks again.
