Help Phone hacked, need help reinstalling OS

Hi,

I have a galaxy S3, it has been hacked in such a way that I am not using it anymore out of paranoia. Cut a long story short, was given a booster battery by a "friend" and noticed that I was getting interference and not receiving calls when plugged in.

I don't want to ditch it because its a good phone, just want all the nasties gone. I'm a computer person so I am wary of androids as I am used to being able to just wipe everything expect the bios and start again.

By the way I have a cracked sreen so I was think of either repairing it or mirroring the screen on eithe my mac, linux, or windows. Can anyone please give me some suggestions?

Also does anyone know wherfe i can get a cheap screen for it? cheapest I can find is about $100 and I just can't justify it.

Many thanks in advance.

Have you checked eBay for displays units?
Do you have use of the touchscreen? If so, a factory reset will remove everything (including malware) from a non-rooted device (and might even fix the interference issue you're having).
You say you're a "computer person", if you mean windows or Mac then Android is far far safer :thumbsupdroid:

PS, what, exactly, makes you think it's been "hacked"?

The device is rooted, I am running cyanogenmod, I know when my device is not right such as Telstra pre-paid app directing me to a mobile number instead of 1800 with an international dialer code in front of it which I verified at the telstra store (network provider) as scam numbers, calling somewhere that had caller id only for them to quote a different number to mine.

I am a computer person, I am primarily a Linux person because i know it is one of the safest platforms to use as most malware is directed at windows, and lately mac.

You may think Android is safe but what I am talking about is a social engineering attack, in which a device is introduced to the system by physical means allowing it access it on a local level, rather than via the internet.

If it was done once, do it again. Completely erase the phone, re-flash CM, and any nasties, malware, nefarious diallers, etc. will be blown away, gone. :thumbsupdroid:
