My phone has to go in for repairs because it seams to be turning off at random.

With the exception of flashing the stock ROM and Kernel, what else should I be doing?

Assuming you rooted your phone at some point, you need to make sure you have a usb jig so you can reset the binary counter to 0.

Makes sense, however, this is not an acceptable solution for me.
