Help Phone in MTP not seen on PC

LG Optimus L9 (LG-P769)
Android 4.1.2 Build JZO54K Version P76920h

Computer is not seeing phone at all (not even in Device Manager). I do not have original cable as it was chewed up by my dog. I have used about 10 different cables because I had to constantly replace them when she was a puppy and I have never had a connection problem before. In addition, I have used this cable to connect to the computer before successfully, as far as I know. I downloaded and installed the Windows MTP patch with no luck. Phone is not accessible via Bluetooth either. USBDeview doesn't recognize it as an active device and won't allow me to activate it, but it is seen there. Not entirely sure what to do at this point.

few possibilities.. some usb cords have a 'trip wire' that turns colors when it gets wet and pluggged up (also known as puppy chewin on it.. had it happen) if thats the case then you will see it on the micro end of the usb.. in my case it was a blue line basically in the cord..

so to narrow it down, does it charge when you plug it into the wall charger?

Have you tried another USB port? How about rebooting the computer? Can you try from a different computer? That's all I can think of to try. Mary
