Phone interface on Droid Eris sluggish?

Whenever I open the "phone interface" to make a call, everything becomes much more sluggish, i.e. when I hit dial, or speakerphone button, there's an input lag. Droid Eris on 1.5.

It is pretty common. You might try clearing the call logs and see id that helps.

Everything is sluggish on this device; why should the phone be any different?
If you want a simple, logical, efficient way to make cellular phone calls, go buy a ten dollar no-frills phone. If you want to feel like you're carrying your laptop in your pocket, get used to the Eris.

^Of course that's not true. Just because your pone lags doesn't mean everyone's does.
