Help Phone internal data backup issues.

Hi!

My phone overheated and won't boot past the splash screen but can still get in to Android Recovery Mode <3e>. I backed up the internal data and that went fine. I put it in to an identical second phone and went in to recovery mode. I clicked 'Restore user data' and got the error message saying "Error: Checksum compare fail". I can't find any advice on the .backup file format OR the Android Recovery System <3e> anywhere on the web.

Can anyone tell me how to backup the data properly or use the .backup file I currently have?

I wonder that nobody seem to have knowledge about this backup format. According your posting, it is not possible to use this for transferring data between devices! so it seems not a checksum of the file but a fingerprint of the device
Actually i got the same error, when i want to apply a "self made backup with tar", which is also refused.
