Help Phone is SLOW

DRB042571

Lurker
First off, I do want to say that this IS a pretty good phone. LOTS of storage space, and the ability to move apps to the SD card is a definite plus.

However, I've only had the phone for a month, and pretty much right off the bat, it was SLOW. Very slow when changing screens, opening apps, closing apps, etc. Clearing out the cache and data doesn't speed things up.

The only thing I've found that speeds the phone up is disabling ALL of the Google apps that come standard on the Android phones. This actually speeds the phone up quite a bit, however, this means a lot of other needed apps won't work, and you'll get constant "update" notifications.

It just seems that for a Quad-Core phone, it shouldn't be this slow.

Does anyone have any helpful info?

You might want to download something like Aida64 or CPU-Z from the Play Store and check that your CPU cores are actually running at the speeds they are supposed to run at (also check your battery saver mode, if it is set to be aggressive, then it will downclock everything in the device to conserve power, leading well, to everything being slow).
