Hi,
I'm hoping that some of the more experienced heads on this board could make some suggestions.
I'm currently the owner of a perfectly reasonable HTC Desire with upgraded battery and 2.3 android with about six months left before I can upgrade.
I got this phone on the back of some pretty good reviews that glossed over what, for me, is the phones biggest drawback. Which is the lack of memory IMO.
I'm currently running with less that 5mb left despite having a 16gb memory card with over 90% free and some pretty serious pruning of apps.
Now I am quite aware of the various root options and I am actively considering them, however I'm shortly going to be working away from home for a while and I don't want to run the risk of having a phone failure when I'm not in the position to fix it.
What is the easiest/quickest/most reliable PAYG android phone to root? Is it still the Orange San Francisco or is there a better and/or cheaper option now?
Seeing as I am used to the Sense UI, what is the best UI to use on the rooted phone?
And finally, for when my contract runs out, what is the best Android phone with decent battery life and none of the memory foibles that the desire exhibits.
Thanks in advance guys
