Phone keeps freezing for a few seconds, help?!?

Hi, my phone is having major problems. Whenever I use it, browsing, games, or just scrolling, my phone will work for 3 seconds then freeze for 3 seconds then works for 3 seconds and so forth.

It's not a memory issue, I still have 5 gigs of space. And I've tried deleting the last few apps.

This is HIGHLY frustrating and was hoping someone here could help!

It's the Fascinate, Galaxy S phone by Samsung. A piece of junk.

Have you tried a Factory Reset? Sometimes that helps clean out anything that's causing problems.

No, I've only heard about factory resets, but I thought consumers weren't able to access that feature. If we are, how can I do a factory reset?

If I put an SD card with all my info and data and I factory reset, can I be able to put my info back in?
